Shiraz is famous for ‘Bhar-E-Naranj’, and ‘Chahar-Baq’. It is the land of amazing gardens, love and lovers, great poets, literature, and genial people. It is also known for having long history among Iranian cities and long history in Persian land.
Shiraz is the capital of Fars (In Old Persian called Pars) province. Shiraz is four-season city and has partly moderate weather. Shiraz is Located between several mountains and stretched along Rud-E-Khoshk (literary meaning dry river), a seasonal river which empties into ‘Mahar-loo’ lake.
History of this city base an estimate on a new found-document, dates back to four thousand years ago (2000 BCE). Base on a cuneiform inscription this area was called ‘Tizaris’ back then.
Because of fertile and wide plains, moderate weather, and many rivers, several dynasties chose their capital around this historical city form Achaemenids to Zand dynasty.
Shiraz has been the homeland of many poets, among them Sa’adi and Hafez, Two great poets who are well-known in Persian and world literature. Their verses are among the best poems in Persian literature, and their poems show magnificent aspect of life in short sentences with harmonic tone at same time. Their tombs are located there.
In addition to its historical aspect, Shiraz has some unique Islamic architecture too, like pane arts used in Nasir-Al-Molk mosque perfectly.
Transportation:
Airport: Via Shahid Dastgheib international airport, tourists can access to Istanbul, Dubai, Kuwait, Muscat, Sharjah, Doha, Prince Mohammad Bin Abdulaziz, Ataturk international airports.
Railroad: Shiraz railroad station has departure each day to Tehran and three times departure in week to Mashhad.
Intercity Bus: Shiraz has three intercity terminals, and most bus companies have office there, and offer several services; the dominant terminal is ‘Kar-Andish’. Tourists can reach any provinces and almost any big cites by this terminal

Although Shiraz has metro and bus with well-run services, Taxis are most convenient way for transportation throughout the city with quite cheap fares. Several kinds of taxis are available: pre-booked taxi, snap, ‘telephone taxi’ agency, share taxi, and private taxi.
Note: ‘Snap’ is new facility in transportation system of Shiraz. It works exactly like Uber in other countries. Tourists must download the app and register, then they can easily use it. It is easiest, and cheapest way of transportation throughout the city. Be aware that you must pay it with Iranian cash.

Kalam-Polo, Ash-E-Shirazi (only cooked in dawn), and for dessert do not miss Salad-E-Shirazi.
